Dympna O’Sullivan (lady captain) and Philomena O’Sullivan at a recent function at Mitchelstown Golf Club.-

Results for the 6th and final round of the winter league: 1st overall: Phil O’Sullivan (17) 31pts, 0 to 20: Orla Lee (12) 26pts, 21to 29: Kate Biggane (25) 29pts and 30 to 36: Carmel Dowling (36) 26pts.

This league was a great success with an excess of 48 ladies playing good golf over the 6 week period,

A big thank you to the course staff for having the course in excellent condition.

1st team (F) 530pts: Dympna O’Sullivan (capt), Geraldine O’Donovan, Monica McCormack, Carmel Dowling and Jean Roche; 2nd team (I) 506pts: Catherine Kavanagh, Phil O’Sullivan, Eibhlin O’Brien, Joan Molan and Breda Kennedy and 3rd team (A) 493pts: Orla Lee, Mary Hanley (vice captain), Kate Biggane, Delia McGrath and Marie Russell. Best individual with a fantastic score of 179pts over the 6 weeks was Catherine Kavanagh.

Fixtures for the month of Dec

Saturday 30th, Sunday 1st and Wednesday 4th: Christmas cake competition, kindly sponsored by Eileen Finn.

Saturday 7th, Sunday 8th and Wednesday 11th: Bottle Day.

Saturday 14th, Sunday 15th and Wednesday 18th: Bonanza Day.

Friday night 20th: Bonanza night (bring and win), value €10 gift (unwrapped).
