Castlelyons Community Council is hosting a meeting to raise awareness of EirGrid's Grid Link project. The aim of the meeting, being held in the Community Centre on Monday next, December 16 at 7pm, is to advise people of the proposed routes for the pylons and outline how submissions can be made if they wish to do so.

There will be personnel available between 7 and 8pm to advise on that, followed at 8pm by a question and answer session.

A series of such community meetings have taken place in local areas in recent weeks as a body of opposition to the Grid Link project has emerged.

The deadline for submissions was extended recently by EirGrid to Tuesday, January 7.
