A lane of traffic was closed in Fermoy on Friday last July 21, as a protest march took place in a bid to save the ‘Red Eye’ service at Fermoy’s SouthDoc.
Led by local women, Michelle O’Brien and Esther Fitzgerald, the protest began at Fermoy town park and ended at the Courthouse in Fermoy where those in attendance heard from the organisers and public representatives on the issue.
“The purpose of today is not about arguing or fighting with SouthDoc Management or GPs, it is that we the public want you to listen to us and see that we do not want to lose our late night doctor service here in Fermoy,” Michelle said.
