Mitchelstown Walking Festival this Easter weekend
Bishopstown Hillwalking Club founded in 1994, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and to mark the occasion the club is organising the Mitchelstown Walking Festival this Easter weekend.
One of the largest hillwalking clubs in Ireland and with many members from The Avondhu readership area in its ranks, the club organises walks every weekend for all levels of ability and fitness.
There are a full range of walks over the weekend in the Galty, Knockmealdown and Ballyhoura Mountains. There is a family Orienteering Introduction Event and Competition on Easter Sunday at Green Wood, Ardpatrick (also known as the Mountain Bike Trails Centre). Turn up any time between 11am and 2pm.
Registration is essential and the Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown and the Deebert House Hotel in Kilmallock will be the two main registration centres – depending on staring locations for the walks. For all details and registration forms, please go to the web site www.mitchelstownwalkingfestival.net
UPCOMING WALKING FESTIVALS
