AUSSIE INSPIRED - Martin Dorgan at the impressive entrance to his farm.

While the entrance to the dairy farm in Killawillin (Castlelyons) may look something like Jurassic Park, local farmer Martin Dorgan can assure that you won’t find any dinosaurs inside. “It’s not Jurassic Park, it’s Radharc na Coille,” he assures.

At the entrance to Radharc na Coille, three large totem poles adorned with intricate carvings and joined with chains, stand guard on either side of the entrance road. At their feet, a pebbled ground on which prominent glacial stones sit, one of which carries a plaque, engraved with the farm name.

Radharc na Coille, which translates to ‘view of the forest’ is home to Martin, who has farmed the surrounding lands for over half a century, and his wife Mary, who helped name the farm when they married over forty years ago.
