New TD Dr Cathal Berry said he has never forgotten his childhood in Kilworth and is ready to go to battle with bureaucrats to solve the Defence Forces crisis.
Dr Berry, who served as a senior officer with the Defence Forces’ Army Ranger Wing and has since his retirement worked as a doctor, was elected in his adopted constituency of Kildare South.
Last year he launched a scathing attack on the issues facing the Defence Forces, caused by, what he said, was a lack of leadership by politicians.
Cathal has never forgotten his home patch and paid tribute to the people of Kilworth where his family still have strong roots.
“My mum grew up in Kilworth and both my grandparents are from the main street in Kilworth. My parents would have met in Moore Park and then my Dad bought a farm out in Ballyduff …”
