Patrick Cahill from Kildinan is a Tús worker with Avondhu Blackwater Partnership and has recently done a major clean-up of the old graveyard in Rathcormac, as well as maintaining it regularly.
A number of calls have been received by the Avondhu Blackwater Partnership office staff from locals who wanted to commend Patrick’s work.
“Patrick takes great pride in his work and is a pleasure to work with,” said Vincent O’Flynn, TUS Supervisor at Avondhu Blackwater Partnership.
“He keeps the grass cut and has cleaned and weeded many of the graves. We intend to carry on with the cleaning of the graveyard and cut back some of the overhanging growth.”
The graveyard had been neglected for a quite a while, but now it is much more accessible for people to visit their deceased relatives.
