Last Saturday night in the Radisson Blu Hotel, Little Island our long awaited and much anticipated inaugural Strictly St Catherines event took place and it certainly lived up to the hype and frenzy of attention it created.
Eight months ago, Ann Galvin called a meeting of camogie and GAA club representatives and she came prepared, with her research done and bucket loads of enthusiasm and sold the idea of a monster fundraiser to all present on the night.
It was an ambitious plan and needed a huge amount of help and resources and most importantly, twenty-six people willing to volunteer to dance.
Once the dancers were cajoled and their commitment assured the PR machine set in motion and began teasingly disclosing the event through club social media and press and in no time a feeding frenzy had begun.
