Speed limit reductions, which will see the urban centres of Fermoy and Mitchelstown, as well as roads in several local villages reduced to 30kph, have been agreed at a special meeting of the Fermoy Municipal District this week.
Following a public consultation on the new proposed speed limits, where maps including the streets and areas for consideration were highlighted, a total of 123 submissions were returned.

In the Fermoy Municipal District, 11 submissions were made regarding the proposals – these included 4 for Fermoy, 5 for Ballyhooly village, 1 for Mitchelstown and the remaining 1, which referred to the villages of Kildorrery, Glanworth, Kilworth, Rathcormac and Doneraile.
