The once cratered old mart car park in Fermoy has been given a welcome makeover. Cork County Council staff carried out the works following a request by Cllr Noel McCarthy, after receiving a number of complaints by local businesses and residents.

Noel thanked Brendan O’Gorman at Fermoy Municipal Authority and the council staff who carried out the work.

“People I’ve spoken to about it are delighted, it makes a world of difference for them. Before they’d have had to navigate around the potholes and there was the risk of damaging your car.

“It removes the safety hazard; I know businesses in the area are pleased because it means their customers can park there without any difficulties,” he said.
