A young man,for whom a public search was launched earlier in January, has been located in Cooper’s Wood near King’s Yard, Kilbehenny by some local people out for walk on Sunday afternoon; a search had been taking place in the North Cork and South Tipperary/East Limerick areas in the latter half of last week.
Kilbehenny local Moss Fitzgerald confirmed to The Avondhu that the young man, Cian, is this week in hospital and receiving the care he requires; Mr Fitzgerald thanked the locals, Cahir gardaí, the ambulance crew and those of King’s Yard for their valuable assistance.
The 30-year-old was the subject of a Virgin Media documentary aired in March last year, where he detailed his experience of being homeless while in full-time employment in Dublin. Saying he had grown up in care, and did not abuse drink or drugs, the powerful documentary gave an insight into the experience of living on the street, enduring assaults, the cold and the practicalities of life, such as where one charges a phone to have an alarm in the morning. The documentary also detailed the attempts by his employer to help him with his situation.
