Winners of prestigious BioPharmChem Impact Awards 2026 announced

BioPharmaChem Ireland (BPCI), the Ibec group that represents the biopharmaceutical and chemical sectors, revealed the winners of the Impact Awards 2026 on Monday, with three Cork-based companies coming out on top of their respective categories.

The awards were held as part of BPCI’s Impact Conference, held in Dublin, which brought together over 430 industry leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to celebrate the remarkable contributions and advancements within the BioPharmaChem sector.

Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals, based in Ringaskiddy, is one of Ireland’s leading biopharmaceutical manufacturing operations, producing medicines for patients around the world. The company received the Best Process Innovation/Digitalisation of the Year Award 2026 in recognition of its commitment to operational excellence and innovation.

Thermo Fisher Scientific was awarded the BioPharmaChem Partner/Supplier of the Year Award 2026 for its contribution to supporting Ireland’s life sciences ecosystem. With a significant presence in Cork, it’s a global leader in serving science, providing analytical instruments, laboratory technologies and pharmaceutical services.

Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine in Ringaskiddy – a world-class pharmaceutical manufacturing facility focused on the production of innovative medicines – received the Best Talent Strategy of the Year Award 2026 in recognition of its investment in people, workplace culture and skills development.

Waterford companies Sanofi (Sustainable BioPharmaChem Company of the Year Award 2026 recipient in recognition of its leadership in sustainability and environmental performance) and Brightbeam AI, based in Waterford (Collaboration in BioPharmaChem Award 2026 in recognition of its work driving partnership and innovation across the industry) were also award recipients.

‘BENCHMARK FOR EXCELLENCE’

Commenting on the Impact 2026 winners, Dr Sinead Keogh, Head of Sectors at Ibec and Director of BioPharmaChem Ireland said they were ‘incredibly proud’ to recognize the exceptional work of the BioPharmaChem industry in Ireland.

“The achievements recognised at the inaugural Impact Awards not only highlight the strength and potential of the BioPharmaChem sector in Ireland but also set a benchmark for excellence and innovation globally,” she said. 

The awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the BioPharmaChem sector in Ireland across seven categories. 

Other Impact Awards 2026 winners on the night were APC VLE Therapeutics (BioPharmaChem Company of the Year Award 2026) and Dunbar Pharmaceuticals (Emerging BioPharmaChem Company of the Year Award 2026).
