The way is paved for expansion in the Corrin area of Fermoy, as rezoning proposals for two tracts of land were voted in favour of last week.

One of these tracts of land is by Cork Marts, where the foundations have been laid for an NCT centre after a motion to rezone land was passed at a meeting of Cork County Council.

With 46 votes in favour of the motion, and commentary widely in favour of the move, the rezoning proposal was passed with positivity.

Cllr Kay Dawson, who proposed the motion back in December and spoke in favour again last week of the move, made reference to her own ‘old car’ when she called for the rezoning.
