The parents' association of Watergrasshill National School has teamed up with the village's soccer club to host a novel fundraising event. They've come together to run a family fun weekend, which will take place on the weekend of the June bank holiday.

PIGS AWAY!

The event will kick off on the Friday with a live concert on the main street. It gets underway at 8pm with music by Retro and local artists. The main event on Saturday is the much anticipated pig races which take place, also on the main street, at 8.30pm. Featuring real pigs and real races, organisers are also happy to take real bets on the outcome! The national school ran a competition for children to name the competing pigs to tie in with the event.

The weekend will also see a spinathon, DJs, orienteering, youth and over 35's soccer tournament and a food stall. All are invited along to enjoy the event and put the all-important 'd' into the fun weekend. E-mail them on WGHparents@gmail.com or find them on Facebook for more information.
