It's all systems go for the 3rd Watergrasshill Diecast Model Show, to be held on Sunday, February 2, at the premises of Pronto Despatch, Unit 1, Watergrasshill Business Park. The first such successful event was held in 2010, followed by a bigger event in 2011 and now two years later organisers are promising the best yet.
Richard Cox the organiser of the previous two shows, is again at the helm and he and his enthusiastic team are leaving no stone unturned to make the day a special one for all farm, lorry, car and construction miniature (and not so) machines.
Already many exhibitors from near and far have booked space, which is readily available in the larger more spacious premises of Pronto Despatch, which the organisers are grateful for.
This year’s event is a fundraiser for the ever-expanding Watergrasshill 118th Scout Group, which was formed in the 1990s and which continues to go from strength to strength. The membership currently is over 85 boys in 4 sections with 10 dedicated leaders to the fore.
As with all voluntary groups the need for funds is paramount and with growing numbers the Watergrasshill 118th need tents, cooking equipment and accessories. With your support Sunday week’s model fundraiser is sure to help significantly in this regard.
This show is a must for everyone from the novice collector to the near professional and those with just the slightest interest. The range, scale and attention to detail of all the model machinery is truly mind-boggling and gaining new admirers regularly.
The show runs from 11am to 5pm, Sunday, February 2 in Watergrasshill and is not to be missed. Further details from Richard Cox 087-2893140 or Daire Foley 086-1641337. Watergrasshill 118th Scout Group wish to express thanks to Richard and his team for co-ordinating the show despite his busy schedule and studies in Britain.
A full feature will be included in next week’s edition of The Avondhu. To be associated telephone 025-24451 or email sales@avondhupress.ie
