In their first game of the year, St Fanahan’s U14 football team defeated Davis College from Mallow on a scoreline of 4-8 to 1-6.

The match was a draw at half-time with both teams having scored 1-4 apiece. A tactical switch involving Killian Finn being moved to full forward proved decisive however, and St. Fanahan’s rolled out easy winners.

In their second game of the year against Coláiste Mhuire from Buttevant, a Jack Roche inspired team steamrolled to victory on a scoreline of 8-6 to 3-6. Solid defending from the backs and a massive display from Joshua Irwin in goals laid the foundation for another great St Fanahan’s win.

Mr Dunne was very impressed by the win and said: "There was great resolve shown by the lads to win by such a great margin. It’s testament to the hard work they’ve put in this year."

Congratulations to the players, the assistants Jack O’Sullivan and Dylan Farrelly and managers Mr Dunne and Dr Butler.
