VAS signs welcome addition to Ballyhooly

In a bid to curb speeding through Ballyhooly, two Vehicle Activated Speed (VAS) display signs has been installed along the N72 on either side of the village.

In a bid to curb speeding through Ballyhooly, two Vehicle Activated Speed (VAS) display signs has been installed along the N72 on either side of the village.

Ballyhooly Community Council has welcomed the addition of the solar-powered signs to the area, which has come at the end of a long campaign by local residents looking to remedy the issue of speeding vehicles.

In recent years there has been a series of accidents and near misses involving locals, including parents with school-going children, trying to exit their residences and housing estates.
