MATCH RESULTS
Fermoy U10s East Cork League Champions
The girls contested the final of the East Cork League last Sunday in Watergrasshill against Bride Rovers.
From the throw in, the Fermoy girls got into their stride and had a goal immediately from Nisha and the first point from Laura Scannell. It wasn’t long before our captain, Aine and Aoibhe both added goals for the team. Aine, on fire, went on to score another goal for Fermoy. Fermoy now unstoppable, got 2 more fantastic points by Laura and Aine just before half-time.
Fermoy, even though they were well ahead, did not give up. The girls knew this final was at stake and were not willing to give it up.
Fermoy battled hard to get the first score of the second half but this rubbed off a Bride Rovers' player and led to an own goal. Fermoy now on a high, were in a constant flow and saw Aine scoring another goal. Caoimhe Hartnett at centre back, marched through the Bride Rovers' defenders and scored an awesome goal. Emer O’Leary also saw her chance to score and got a beautiful point from play. Final score came from the one and only Aoibhe when she lobbed the keeper and got the ball into the back on the net.
Outstanding performance from the Fermoy girls.
