Two trucks and car crash outside Mitchelstown

On Tuesday last, the main road between Mitchelstown and Kildorrery at Glennahulla was closed due to a collision, which involved a car and two trucks.

On Tuesday last, the main road between Mitchelstown and Kildorrery at Broomhill near Glennahulla was closed due to a collision, which involved a car and two trucks.

The three vehicle crash, involving an articulated truck, a rigid bodied lorry and a car, occurred at approximately 8.40am. It's understood all three were driving in the same direction, towards Kildorrery when the collision occurred. One of the trucks was believed to have been making a right turn at the time. There were two casualties taken to hospital, while one truck driver had to be cut free from the truck cabin.

The accident was attended to by two units of Fermoy Fire Brigade and two units from Mitchelstown. The road was closed for around two hours and the fire brigades left the scene three and a half hours after the accident.
