Two hardy Kilfinane athletes took on an epic 200km non stop marathon run across Kerry in recent weeks.
The men, Liam Sheehy and Martin Hennessy, conquered the giant endeavour within the time limit along the Kerry Way Ultra route.
The race is the equivalent of covering four and half marathons across the challenging terrain of the mountainous county.
Martin is a ‘seasoned’ competitor and on the day, he was looking to set a personal best for this course and achieved a great result of 28 hours and 32 mins.
This was first outing at this distance for Liam Sheehy, who completed the testing course in 35 hours and 20 mins.
