Litter picking, tidying and maintaining public areas, weeding and generally making Mitchelstown look better - these are things that people often take for granted, but all of this work, and more, is thanks to the hard work and dedication of the TUS workers.

Working under the guidance of Sean Joy and Sean Finn in Mitchelstown Community Council, the TUS workers have been improving Mitchelstown, carrying out projects of any size in all areas of the town and then working to maintain what they did on that first day.

Recently, they built a new trailer, suitable for lightweight materials from an old quad that belonged to Sean Finn.

Speaking to The Avondhu, TUS worker Robbie Quigley said that it took about three days to make, but they wanted to thank Sean for donating the equipment and the materials.

Kevin Piggott added that they have set up a Facebook page and people can look at this page to see updates on the work the TUS workers are carrying out. I there is something that they want to get done, they can post it on the page and if it is sanctioned by Sean Joy, the work will be carried out by them.

This is a great way for people to engage with the work they are doing and also a good way to see just how much they are doing around the town.
