Seven year-old Fionn Doyle who died of leukaemia on New Year’s Eve was described at his requiem Mass as ‘a miracle child’ and ‘a gorgeous, happy chatty little man’.

In a tribute to Fionn at St Bartholomew’s Church in Kildorrery, his mum Eimear Doyle said the family would forever hold dear the memories of the time they spent with their ‘cheeky little monkey’ and told how the cord between her and her son would never be broken.

In an emotional tribute she said: “To Fionn, I would just like to say from me, Daddy, Amy and Saoirse, we are so grateful that we got the chance to have you in our lives.
