Fermoy is to see a new facility opening up on a trial basis this summer to accommodate motor caravan parking.
The new camper van parking area is to be located on Upper Kevin Barry Hill car park and is to remain open for the summer months.
According to Municipal District Officer, Pauline Moriarty, camper van parking will be allocated in one block and some signage will be erected.
“If it is used and is a success, we would look at it in September or October with a view to putting some facilities, including a water tap and putting in a more permanent facility,” Ms Moriarty said.
