Proposals for a relief road in Fermoy to ease traffic are being considered, according to Cork County Council officials.

Calls were extended this week for a relief road in Fermoy in light of major developments coming on stream for the town in the form of the nearly completed Primary Health Care Centre, with planning permission sought for a new Tesco store, both located in the Mill Island area of the town.

At the Fermoy Municipal District meeting, Cllr Noel McCarthy tabled a motion asking whether the council has considered the need or feasibility of a relief road in light of such developments.
