This St Patrick’s night in Mitchelstown, The Firgrove Hotel will host The Minnie Ryan School of Dance Gathering, where former pupils of Minnie Ryan’s will perform steps and dances they learnt from Minnie down through the years and all proceeds will be donated to Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Research Foundation.

A spokesperson told The Avondhu, that for many years, Minnie’s pupils took part in the St Patrick’s night concerts in the town hall, giving many their first taste of show business and stagemanship.

“Minnie taught us a very valuable lesson for life. Be confident and do not be afraid to demonstrate your skill and ability. I am sure Minnie’s pupils have used ‘performance confidence’ gained at those concerts many times throughout their lives,” the spokesperson said.

The concert line up includes The Fogarty’s, ‘Eistigi’, traditional singers, Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Baile Mhisteala and ‘The CrossKeys’.

Following the concert there will be an informal session where people can join in, or just enjoy the session.

Tickets are priced at €10 for adults and €5 for accompanying children and all are welcome to what promises to be a great night.
