Who'd have thought there were so many tractor enthusiasts? People interested in the great mechanical beasts of the agricultural world turned out in force for the eight annual Tractor World Ireland Show in Fermoy last weekend and organisers were grateful for their support as the funds raised are going to Marymount Hospice in Cork where care and respite is provided to cancer patients.

To make sure the whole family had something to enjoy over the two days at the Corrin Event Centre, there was entertainment laid on for kids, numerous stands including trade stands, an auto jumble sale and outside catering alongside the displays of various tractor models, vintage tractors, model displays, and build teams, log splitting and old time silage cutting displays.

Chairman of the organising committee, Tony Doyle, this week thanked all those who'd supported the event along with their exhibitors and the staff at Corrin Marts. The final amount raised for Marymount Hospice is being tallied and will be announced in the coming weeks. The hospice had their own stand at the event from where they sold tickets for a raffle, raising further much-needed funds.
