A free community mental health and wellbeing event is scheduled for the end of September in Midleton, which will feature a wide array of entertainment, recreational activities, workshops and informational spaces.
‘Together at the Lodge’ will be held at Midleton Lodge Park at the bottom of the town on 29th September from 12pm and features exciting and fun activities from over 30 local community groups and organisations and aims to foster a sense of community throughout East Cork. It will also raise awareness about the support services available for mental health and wellbeing, along with being a fun day out for all the family.
Some organisations that will be there on the day are See Change, Shine, Headline, the Samaritans, as well as East Cork Social Prescribing.
This, the second-ever ‘Together at the Lodge’ event, was launched by Cork County Council and Cork Kerry Community Healthcare earlier this week. Other organisers include Connecting for Life, the Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce, the Midleton Family Resource Centre, and SECAD.
Adrianna Hegarty, president of Midleton and Area Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the event’s importance.
“This event is dedicated to shedding light on mental health services and reinforcing the ties that bind us. Gathering, sharing personal journeys, and discovering the myriad resources available is profoundly important. ‘Together at the Lodge’ promises a day of entertainment, workshops and activities that foster connections and underscore the significance of mental health.”
