Mondaniel residents in Rathcormac are thrilled with the news that they are to get a footpath linking them with the village almost one kilometre away, after Cork County Council announced the positive news last week.
The footpath currently goes as far as the entrance to the apartments at Manor Mills (the former Mill building); now, it will be extended past Rathcormac Tyres and as far as Mondaniel Cross.
While a minor amenity on the face of it, it will make a big difference to the those living in the area which includes about 40 children.
Speaking on behalf of the group, mum Lorraine Cuffe said they were ‘absolutely thrilled’ and were gladly looking forward to the path, which should be completed by the end of the year.
