Three generations bring ‘Two Rivers’ to the bookshelves

Three generations of the Rice family mark the launch in Fermoy of the 'forgotten' book by the late Herald angling correspondent, Richard Rice.

A book written by a popular Herald columnist 60 years ago and which sat partly forgotten and unpublished on a shelf has been lovingly rescued by his devoted family.

‘Two Rivers’ by the late Herald angling correspondent, Richard Rice, a Dublin-based Garda hailing from Fermoy on the River Blackwater, has now been published by his family thanks to the dedication of three generations of Richard’s descendants.

The book represented the only work by the Cork-born Garda that was never published.
