‘The stuff of dreams’ – Kevin shares in Idah’s cup success

Mitchelstown native, Kevin Ronayne and his son Fionn were among those  delighted with Glasgow Celtic’s triumph over Rangers in the Scottish Cup final last weekend, aided by Cork’s own Adam Idah with a last-minute strike that secured victory, having already savoured being at the SPL clincher v St Mirren the previous week and joining in the celebrations at Celtic Park, after Santa Claus presented the league trophy!

A former pupil of Douglas Community School, Idah was coached by the Mitchelstown man from a young age, where his talent was evident and since entering the ‘big’ leagues, Idah has stayed in touch with Mr Ronayne through the years.

Ronayne coached the Irish international at College Corinthians from U14 until he signed for Norwich and also coached him while he attended Douglas Community School, where Mr Ronayne was teaching.
