‘The slightest hiccup and the town is gridlocked’ – solutions sought for Fermoy’s traffic woes

Fermoy getting a ‘bad rep’ as motorists avoiding congested town centre.

Fermoy town has consistently been brought to a standstill in recent times as significant traffic congestion has returned in the town, becoming a tension which was particularly evident upon the recent closure of Richmond Hill for remedial works towards the end of last year.

Motorists have reported having spent up to 30 minutes getting from Courthouse Road to Brian Boru Square in the town during peak times when in reality, the journey is at most a 8-10 minute walk.
