'The Mid-Knight Cowboy' is written and performed by Limerick actor, Pius McGrath and directed by Tara Doolan and will be staged at Friars' Gate, Kilmallock on this Friday night.

In this new play, McGrath takes a piercing look at what it means to be a man in post economic boom Ireland. Fresh from Edinburgh Fringe 2013, performed on Broadway as part of the United Solo Theatre Festival in November, this show is not to be missed.

McGrath plays three generations of Irish men, from the same family, at different points in their lives. This provides both a fast paced, exciting performance and a varied commentary, showcasing both the honesty in McGrath's writing and skill as an accomplished performer.

Told with classic Irish humour, honesty, and artistic fervor through raunchy real-life experiences, 'The Mid-Knight Cowboy' follows MacCumhaill’s failing efforts to find contentment within himself by filling his emptiness with countless conquests and meaningless affairs. This social commentary piece uses an innovative style of writing and performance and, while humorous and brash, it is also a hard hitting honest portrayal of a young man’s emotional realisation and growing self-awareness. Contains some sexual references and adult content. Over 14s. Tickets €12/€10.
