County councillor Frank O’Flynn has tabled a motion for the monthly meeting of the area committee of Cork County Council on Tuesday next calling for them to install a special type of ramp outside Adair National School.

Parents there have been campaigning for the ramps to be installed to imrove safety. Instead the last meeting of the traffic sub-committee of Fermoy Town Council decided to monitor traffic levels until January before deciding what to do. They did improve signage there recently and install rumble strips.

Cllr O’Flynn says the type of ramps he’s calling for, called ‘low-level table platform ramps’ are silent and would be ideal as they would control traffic speed without generating noise.
