On this Thursday night, ‘The Ballroom of Romance’ is being screened in the Palace Theatre at 7.30pm.
The film, from the book by William Trevor, features some of the top names in Irish acting circles, including the late great Brenda Fricker, John Kavanagh, Mick Lally, Cyril Cusack, Niall Toibin, Ingrid Craigie etc.
Prior to the screening of the film, music will be provided by Mo O’Connor and friends – a three-piece combo that includes saxophone, keyboard, guitar, bass and vocals will feature songs and music from the era. Refreshments will also be provided.
Admission at the door will be €15 (no booking required). All proceeds from this, and from Showband Nights And Dancehall Days on October 2, 3 and 4, will go to Fermoy Community Centre.
