Dear Editor,

On behalf of the management, staff and parents of Gaelscoil de hÍde, Fermoy I would like, through your newspaper, to apologise to commuters in Fermoy for any inconvenience caused to them in recent weeks while we endeavoured to safely get all pupils onto buses for school tours and other events.

We acknowledge that this disruption was caused during peak-time traffic and truly appreciate your patience and understanding of the situation. Thanks to your patience, we managed to get all pupils onto their buses without incident.

We would also at this time like to thank the business community in Fermoy for their continued generosity with sponsorship for our annual Fete an tSamhraidh and other fundraising events. On Sunday last we held our fifteenth successive fete, and as ever, this was a resounding success.

This success is in no small way down to the generosity of Fermoy Rowing Club, whose kind gesture of allowing us to use their premises, when the prospect of inclement weather almost resulted in the cancellation of the event.

Tá súil againn nách leanfaidh sé seo i bhfad eile agus sinn ag súil go mór len ár scoil nua. Míle buiochas as bhúr dtuiscint agus bhúr dtacaíocht i gcónaí.

Mise le meas,

Seán Mac Gearailt,

Príomhoide - Gaelscoil de hÍde
