Since its initial Master Plan in 2006, Tesla has always focused on making sustainable transportation more affordable, while ensuring an exciting driving and everyday experience.
In 2023, Model Y made history by becoming the first-ever electric vehicle to top the global best-selling list across all powertrains and energy types. This is strong proof that Model Y has been able to meet the needs of drivers and handle real-life situations around the world.
Today, Tesla continues to improve accessibility and affordability to EVs that can meet the full needs of a household with the introduction of Model Y Standard.
Maximising Value for Money
An important aspect of the Model Y Standard’s design was guided by a focus on total cost of ownership.
Tesla vehicles are known for their leading energy efficiency, and Model Y Standard is no exception—it is the most efficient Model Y ever. With a consumption of 13.1 kWh / 100km and a range of 505 km WLTP, owners can drive more kilometers per euro spent on charging. Model Y Standard also includes 19” Crossflow Wheels in UK and Ireland, differing from the 18” wheels offered in other markets.
Thanks to its manufacturing experience acquired after building over 7 million EVs globally and installed capacity in its industry-leading Gigafactories, Tesla benefits from economies of scale and offers Model Y Standard as a highly competitive package on the market. Tailored to what drivers want, it retains the qualities that made Model Y a global bestseller, now available at a more affordable price point. As with all Tesla vehicles, there are no regular servicing requirements.

True to what Model Y is
Model Y Standard focuses on what matters most to drivers — long range, versatility and features that deliver everyday convenience and entertainment. It retains Tesla’s DNA, with unrivaled software, leading efficiency, and top-tier safety – all while being the most affordable Model Y ever.
As with all Tesla vehicles, the latest addition to the Model Y lineup comes standard with an extensive suite of features, including remote mobile app access, Trip Planner with real-time Supercharger availability, and a variety of gaming and entertainment options. Phone Key, Remote Climate Control, Sentry Mode, Dog Mode, and all the Tesla signature features are included.
Model Y Standard delivers the same superior software experience as every other Model Y. Over-the-air updates continually enhance the vehicle, introducing new features and improving existing ones at no extra cost. It also comes standard with Autopilot and is hardware-ready for Full Self-Driving (Supervised), which will be enabled remotely on applicable vehicles once approved by local regulators.
A distinctive new design, including specific front and rear facias, gives Model Y Standard a unique identity within the lineup. In true Tesla fashion, these design choices were made to enhance efficiency and the overall driving experience.
The cabin offers a comfortable cocoon for all five passengers. Maximizing utility, Model Y Standard features new soft-touch, durable textile seats designed to perform in all scenarios and weather conditions. Inspired by early Model S and Cybertruck, a large storage space between the front seats provides room for everyday belongings, keeping them within easy reach for maximum usability and convenience.
And when needed, Model Y Standard offers up to 835 litres of cargo space with five passengers, and 2,118 litres with the second row folded—enough to carry bikes, camping gear, or other large items.
