Fermoy Forum, the representative body for Fermoy’s businesses and non-profit organisations, has welcomed Tesco to the town after An Bord Pleanála recently granted permission for the development.
An Bord Pleanála has granted permission with revised conditions to Tesco Ireland for a mixed development of a retail unit for licensed alcohol sales, a café and restaurant with takeaway facilities and associated site works. This comes after permission, previously granted by Cork County Council in the summer of 2022, was appealed to the board on a number of grounds.
“Fermoy Forum is delighted to welcome Tesco as the latest major retailer to join the town’s vibrant commercial landscape. We believe this development will not only create employment opportunities for local residents but also reinforce Fermoy’s attractiveness as a thriving business hub,” a spokesperson for the Forum said.
