Permission for the development of a new Tesco store at a site located on Mill Road directly across from the existing Mart Car Park in Fermoy, has been granted permission by Cork County Council.

The initial planning application sought the construction of a 3,739 square metre sales area

Chairperson of Fermoy Forum, Michael Lyons, stated that the development is a welcome one from the Forum’s perspective.

“Fermoy Forum welcomes the development of Tesco in the town, along with all the other developments in that area. Fermoy is thriving and business is really picking up.

“We will be looking over the plans and any issues …"
