Work began this week on the replacement of 75 lead water pipes on Barrack Street, Chapel Street, Convent Street, Main Street and West Street in Tallow, as part of Irish Water’s national Leakage Reduction Programme.
Irish Water customers in Tallow will benefit from a safer and more reliable supply of drinking water as a result of a project to remove old lead pipes connecting properties in the town with the public water supply network.
The current old pipes will be replaced with modern high density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic pipes at a number of locations throughout the town.
