The publication this week by Irish Water of their proposed Capital Investment Programme for 2014 to 2016, shows the West Waterford towns of Tallow and Cappoquin included amongst the towns and villages listed from county Waterford.

The €1.77 billion investment programme includes a commitment to proceed with construction of the Waterford Grouped Towns and Villages Sewerage Scheme, which will see new waste water treatment plants being constructed in seven towns and villages across the county.

Commenting on the programme, Mayor of county Waterford, Cllr. Damien Geoghegan, stated that the Seven Villages Scheme has long been a top priority for the Council and of huge significance for the well-being and economic development of the communities directly involved and for the whole of county Waterford.

The scheme which is a Design Build Operate contract with an estimated value of between €25m and €30m will, when complete, provide modern waste water treatment plants in Cappoquin, Tallow, Dunmore East, Ardmore, Ballyduff/Kilmeaden, Kilmacthomas and Stradbally.
