Cappoquin farmer takes one of two vice-chairperson positions at Tirlán

Tirlán Chairperson John G Murphy was appointed to the Board on 29 June 2010 and to the position of Vice-Chairperson on 2 June 2017. He was first appointed Chairperson on 8 October 2020. John farms at Ballinacoola, Craanford, Gorey, Co Wexford.

Wexford farmer John G. Murphy has been re-appointed as chairperson of Tirlán Co-operative Society Limited for a further two-year term. 

Gerard O’Brien, who farms at Camphire, Cappoquin, Co. Waterford and Thomas Phelan, farming at Portlaoise, County Laois have been appointed to the two vice-chairperson positions. O’Brien was appointed to the board on 1 June, 2018 and has completed a Diploma in Corporate Direction from University College Cork. While Tom Phelan was appointed to the board on 4 June, 2021.

John G Murphy, who farms at Ballinacoola, Craanford, Gorey in Co Wexford, was appointed to the board on 29 June, 2010 and to the position of vice-chairperson on 2 June, 2017. He was first appointed chairperson on 8 October, 2020. He has completed a Diploma in Corporate Direction from UCC.

Pat Murphy (vice-chairperson) and Patrick Whyte retired as directors from the board of the Co-op at last week’s AGM. James O’Brien from County Kilkenny and James Finn from County Tipperary were appointed to the Co-op board as a result of the vacancies arising.
