Talented young administrator moves into GAA’s fast lane

Daniel Lane from Bride Rovers is the new secretary of the East Cork Divisional GAA Board – he takes over from Aghada’s Michael ‘Mick’ O’Brien. 

Recently elected as secretary of his club, there are busy times ahead for the 29-year-old, who according to himself isn’t officially retired as a player.

By his own admission, he was never going to replicate the county exploits of fellow club man, Brian Murphy, but this hasn’t prevented him from playing a full and active part in club affairs.

“Clubs are very inclusive, there’s a role for everyone, I’ve always believed that …”, Daniel told The Avondhu this week.
