Sustainability, the theme of Moorepark walk

Researchers, farmers, students and members of the public took part in a sustainability walk on the grounds of Teagasc, Moorepark on Wednesday, 29th May. 

The subject matter – enhancing water quality and wider farm sustainability – is topical as there has never been more emphasis on farming sustainably. The event was launched by Minister of State, Pippa Hackett, who observed that a balance has to be struck between feeding the world's population and protecting the natural environment.

IMPORTANCE OF TREES

The Government is providing financial incentives to farmers who embrace sustainable initiatives and this was dealt with in some detail at the walk.
