— 66% voter turnout predicted —

Voter turnout had exceeded 20% by mid-afternoon in most voting halls throughout The Avondhu region, despite the deteriorating weather.

Returning officers in Fermoy, Watergrasshill and Carrignavar all noted steady flows of voters from early in the morning and throughout the afternoon.

Candidate hopeful, Cllr Noel McCarthy from Fermoy, was spotted in Bishop Murphy Memorial School making his vote alongside family members.

It is expected that a voter turnout of approximately 66% will be recorded in the area.
