Galbally National School pupils showcased their considerable theatrical talents in Canon Hennessy Community Centre last Monday night.

This busy and progressive school hosted, what is now an annual Christmas concert before a capacity crowd of teachers, parents, family and friends. Every student, from junior infants to sixth class participated and the standard throughout was exceptionally high.

In terms of cuteness and crowd appeal, the clear winners were the junior infants whose nativity scene would melt the hardest of hearts. The Mother Goose group also got a rousing reception, as did those in the Red Riding Hood scene; another Christmas favourite, Scrooge made an appearance, and in keeping with the moral of this Charles Dickens' classic tale, miserly Scrooge did eventually see the error of his penny pinching ways.
