Let’s hope this good weather continues for Sciencecamps International Sun Project. The Sun Project is in conjunction with Young Scientist Tanzania, where the students will Skype to Kenton High School in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania to conduct the experiment. Sciencecamps run Science and Lego Camps in 5 locations in Cork City and County.

In addition to the sun project, kids use LEGO Robotics, Electronics, Fun Experiments and CSI. Some camps combine the Science and LEGO element with Adventure Sports such as high ropes, ziplines and zorbing. Camps cost between €89 and €125 for kids aged 7-15 years.

The camp, at the Lifetime Lab, is also delighted to invite Skytec Ireland to demonstrate their unmanned aerial craft by engineer Maria O’Donovan. Skytec which are based in Ringaskiddy, Co Cork operate unmanned craft, with cameras specially designed for the media industry.

Sciencecamps staff include a qualified science teacher at each camp. All staff are Garda Vetted and fully trained. The aim is to combine fun and learning. LEGO Robotics include LEGO WeDo for younger children and LEGO Mindstorms for children aged 10 years and older. The LEGO includes computer programming to make the robots move.
