The County Council have appealed to people to stop using public bins to dispose of their household waste.
The local authority have asked the public to stop the practice of putting their own waste in council street bins in towns across the region.
“At this time of national crisis, we have adapted to concentrate our services to those that are most critical. While our essential street cleaning services continue, there has been an increase in street litter in recent weeks, due to the use of public bins for domestic waste.
“We ask members of the community to dispose of your waste responsibly and always clean up after your dog. Let’s work together to keep our towns, villages, roads and coasts litter free.
“Our Civic Amenity sites are open for Essential Waste disposal, this includes black bag waste (three bags max), along with glass bottles and cans for recycling.”
