Work on phase two of the remedial scheme at St. Mary’s Crescent in Fermoy is at an advanced stage, members of Fermoy Town Council were told at their monthly meeting on Tuesday night. Councillor Noel McCarthy had sought an update on the works.

LATE SUMMER COMPLETION

He was told that refurbishment work on the eleven houses and the construction of a new unit was around eight weeks from completion. When questioned again on the completion date by Cllr. Tadhg O’Donovan, town clerk Pauline Moriarty said all work would definitely be completed by late summer.

Cllr. McCarthy welcomed the news. Cllr. O’Donovan did likewise, saying after the meeting that it was good to know. “Despite initial delays and the previous contractor going into receivership, I’m delighted we received confirmation, following a request from Cllr. McCarthy for a progress report, that the work there will be finished by the end of the summer.”
