Following on from eight weeks of training with schools in The Avondhu area, Mitchelstown Leisure Centre are now hoping to set up a spikeball club.

Coach Antonio Barros, has been providing the training free of charge to the primary schools and has worked with 275 children over the course of the programme.

He explained that it was initially planned as a six-week programme, but was extended by two weeks, due to the interest from the schools.
