This year's walk, cycle and fun day in aid of Special Friends in Mitchelstown, was very well supported, raising €5,544.20 for the group who support families of children with special needs in Mitchelstown and surrounding areas.

The funds will be used for educational equipment, a sensory party, baking days, home support hours and the Christmas event which the children are already really looking forward to.

The group also held a 'thank you night' recently to show their gratitude to everyone who made th annual walk and cycle what it was, and up and co.ing Mitchelstown band, 'Mistake 28' performed at this.

The band raised funds from the sale of their CD and through a cake sale, and generously donated €250 to the group, which was very well received.

On Sunday, November 17, Kilbehenny Community Centre will also hold a fundraising card game to raise funds for the group and all support would be greatly appreciated.
